S.O.S. stands for Serving Orphans Sundays and in 2013 we’re asking churches around the world to consider God’s heart for the orphan once-a-month in their Sunday services.
The church is commissioned by God to take care of the orphan and the widow. The issue of orphan care starts with exposing and educating those around you. Serving Orphans Worldwide is asking churches all over the world to serve, once-a-month, as a platform for the cause of the orphan. Serving Orphans Sundays is an initiative asking churches to reserve 3 minutes every month and reflect on God’s heart for the orphan. Once-a-month emphasize terms and prayer points for your congregation to consider about orphan care. January // 153,000,000
Service: Introduce the initiative ‘Serving Orphans Sundays’ to your congregation. Pull up the January slide and share it with your congregation. Let your congregation know that there are 153,000,000 orphans in our world and that God loves every one of them. During this time, pray for those who are fatherless in our world and commission your congregation “to look after orphans” in 2013. Pray for the condition of all the orphans and that God will provide for them. Pray that the hearts and minds of the congregation will be softened to God’s heart for the orphan. Bulletin Insert:Today we remember there are 153,000,000 orphans in our world and that God loves every one of them.
