Jennifer and Gomathi- Tuition for Nursing School
By Destiny Village – India

The caste system, gender biases, child marriage and poverty are just some of the factors that contribute to the deprivation of education among girls in India, especially for orphaned and abandoned girls. In fact, only 1 in 100 girls will complete the 12th grade.

Jennifer and Gomathi have already defied the odds by recently completing their high school education. Jennifer came to Destiny Village when she was 12. Her father died when she was young, and she became fully orphaned when her mother passed away from unforeseen illnesses. Gomathi also grew up at Destiny Village and learned that despite her circumstances, she has a God who is able to give her strength to overcome and pursue her dreams.
Both girls have a big dream to complete nursing school. They would like to pursue their degree via a three-year nursing course at the Salvation Army Catherine Booth Hospital and School, located in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu India.

The total cost to cover tuition, accommodation, transportation, books, supplies, uniforms and bills for three years is $7,800 USD (or $1300 USD per year, per child).

In Tanzania, children with HIV/AIDS or mental and physical disabilities are not treated kindly. However, Shalom is a place of healing and love for these children. Two of the children at Shalom are in need of leg braces. The leg braces would physically help these children, but they would allow these children to have brighter futures.

67 Blankets
By Rose of Sharon Orphanage – Zimbabwe

Blankets might appear to be a small thing, but they are an enormous part of a child's life. They are a basic necessity and something these children desperately need. Because Rose of Sharon is a large orphanage with nearly 80 children, it is difficult to provide each child with a new blanket. So, some children are left with old and worn blankets to sleep with at night. No orphan should have to sleep with a tattered blanket.

2 Wells
By Rose of Sharon Orphanage – Zimbabwe

Currently, Rose of Sharon Orphanage in Zimbabwe receives their supply of water from two locations. Either they obtain water from shipments in large containers on trucks, or they have pipes bring water from the nearest source to their location. In both circumstances, the water has to be transported over a significant distance to their location. This is inconvenient and hazardous for the orphanage. An easy solution for their water crisis is to have two wells on site. The two wells will provide enough water for the entire orphanage, and it will be a safe and reliable water source.
