About the Harris Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established July 3rd, 2021, the Harris Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the ministry & legacy of B. Gary Harris and his son, Kevin V. Harris. Throughout many decades of Kingdom work, they both had a special gift and calling for raising up young leaders to do the work of the ministry. 100% of funds raised will provide scholarships for the continuing education of children aging out of Children’s Homes.

B. Gary Harris was raised in Chattanooga, TN, by his grandparents. After high school, Gary enlisted in the Marine Corps where his military training prepared him for the work of the ministry. He later graduated from Lee College with a degree in Christian Education. It was at Lee that he met his wife, Dorlene, and they married in 1968. They served in ministry together for 48 years as youth, Christian Education, Music, and Lead Pastors, as well as various administrative roles for the Church of God. He was known for his love for God, people (especially young people), and music.

Kevin V. Harris was born in Chattanooga and grew to share his father’s passion for youth and music ministry. In 1987, he enrolled at Lee College where he met his wife Cindy. They were ministry partners for 32 years as youth, worship, assistant, and lead pastors. Kevin had a passion for worship, and a special gifting to raise up the next generation in Christ. Under his leadership, many young people stepped into their full time ministry calling. That legacy lives on today through the many children and grandchildren who are serving the Lord. Through this Memorial Fund, their ministry will continue to inspire young people to greatness and realizing the potential that God has for them.
