61,955  SQ. MILE         49,386,799  POP.

India has the largest child population in the world. However, children there face unimaginable hardships. Most do not attend school regularly, pressured to go to work and earn money for their families. It is estimated that there are nearly 60 million child laborers in India. Health is also a struggle, as nearly 2 million of India's 27 million children born per year do not live to the age of 5. For those who do, nearly 40% suffer from malnutrition. These issues combined make children the most vulnerable in India.

Open Arms is a work dedicated to making children's lives better in India.

Open Arms was birthed out of a vision and passion God gave a man named Jyothi Reddi. Because he suffered immensely as a child, Jyothi desired to start a home where little children could be relieved from their pain and poverty. Open Arms Home for Children is located in South India and now serves an astounding 450 homeless children daily; youngsters who would otherwise be subject to constant hunger, street pandering, forced labor and disease. A local Church of God pastor along with a private American foundation constructed an orphanage in this impoverished city and it is now one of the most respected homes for children in the country. Due to the large number of children served, the facility has many needs ranging from funding to build a school to basic items as bunk beds, mattresses and bedding on which the children can sleep. Please give so that this work can continue and many more children can be rescued from the streets.

Serving Orphans Worldwide travels to every orphanage we partner with to ensure needs are legitimate and 100% of funds distributed goes to the livelihood of the children.

Child Labor

Although laws exist in India against child labor, many children do not escape the adversities of working dangerous jobs. Open Arms restores their childhood by bringing them out of those harsh situations.

Andrha Pradesh has one of the highest poverty rates in India. Children are often left to the wayside, suffering its ill effects.

The home is comprised of a single large building. The building itself is in need of a dome to cover the roof, as well as a gated security wall. There are many other needs for applianced, furniture, and utensils inside of the home. Open Arms is in great need of your monthly support in order open up their home to even more children who need love and care.

Children here are fed three healthy meals a day. The children are able to receive medical care when needed, but they have not been able to have access to proper tests and vaccinations because of inadequate funds. The home also desires to have vitamins and medicines to keep in the home when needed. Please consider providing the means for these children to continue to be healthy and illness free.

The caretakers at this home provide the children with utmost spiritual care. They praise God for giving grace to their ministry, as the child here are growing in love and faith in Jesus. Many of the children want to go on to minister and serve others. Open Arms is faithfully rewriting the stories of so many precious lives to the glory of Jesus.

To give their children a quality, Christian education, the home runs a school on its premises. However, running a school requires many supplies and additional buildings, and right now the home is still in need of those things.
